25/08/2006 Cryptic Love between A Father and A daughter+Disc<The English Patient>The love between a father and a daughter has always been a mystery, as long as the history of the civilization..... A man will never be more patient with another female than with his daughter. What kind of love it is? I really do not understand.......To some psychologists, there may exist another kind of love melted in the love between a father and a daugher, just the love between lovers. A daughter was so holy and virgin It's a kind of love in the ideal world deeply concealed in a man's soul... How about the daughter? To her, a father was a magic the world gave her in the few seconds after her arriving, having powerful arms warming her up in no time. In the progress when a girl grew up, father seemed to be a hero and let her feel so safe.He saw the best in his daughter and lifted her up when she couldn't reach what she wanted. Do you still enjoy those images that you were sitting on your father's knees and hearing him call you baby? What a magnetic voice you would ever That's a father, giving his daughter a figure of an ideal lover when she was in her childhood, those innocent days. After a girl grew up, she would seek the love like that her father gave her when she was a little girl. That's what we called love, the most holy thing of human beings. Mam teaches us how to love as well as dad teaches us to be loved... Things changed when a girl could think on her own. Using her judgement, once her father was not a hero in her eyes again, the holy love between them elapsed ... Nothing is perfect! The ideal love between male and female exists between a father and his little daughter. Nature is a magic, isn't it? A woman used the holy love to change for her intelligence when she was young and used her intelligence to seek for such a holy love in her whole life.......and, will never get it back again......
The English Patient (1996)Directed byAnthony Minghella Genre: Romance / Drama / War My Comments: The first thing I want to mention is the patience, for that you couldn't slow down to match the pace of the movie if you were in emergency. It’s a kind of art, slow but deep. Those who are in a hurry can’t feel the pulse of the movie, so powerful. Apparently, this is a movie you love or you hate and there seems to be little space for opinions in between. I must admit the movie do not match the typical style of mine. (Those epically works always attract me in no time.) But I for one think it is an excellent sign. <The English Patient>gives us a picture of how hard life can go on when people was severely sick in health status, totally desperate for lover’s death and helplessly left in a dangerous and alien environment as opposed.(the story happened in World War 2) I appreciated the movie so much .It shook my heart when it showed how destructive love could be to the one who left behind to live alone in such a slowly, painful and helpless way. It also excited me for that you can witness how the temerarious passionate affair can be, and, as consequence, the one left behind suffered from the endless pain, living what a time-consuming, desperate and pointless life in worst health status with no dignity at all. The destruction brought by love is so powerful, beyond what you can imagine. I believe the time and the slow pace in the movie works well as the best tool to expose how helpless life can be to viewers and have the viewers’ heart strongly quaked. As for structure, the multi-layered plots gave viewers a best perspective to have emotional fluctuation going on with the movie. But also for this multi-layered plots, someone found they have more difficulties to be with the slow but complicated movie. If you want to enjoy such a great movie, there is no other way but to calm down yourself and be patient! But life still goes on, there are always some people busy working and learning. So, get a life and enjoy it! Recommended way of access: Download Comments (5)
